Sweetness and Light © John Sloane
John says “The magic of maple syrup begins deep in the forest among the oldest maple trees. There, the cool nights and warm days of late winter and early spring combine to stir the sap. In my painting ‘Sweetness and Light’, the farmer (and his helpers) gather some sap to be slowly simmered down into its delicious essence.
A season of rest becomes a season of growth and energy. Springtime reminds us that kindness and light make our world sweet. Transformation and growth come when the time is right - it’s not on the calendar, but you will know it."
